Yesterday I had my normal visitors to my birdfeeder…
Blue Jay
Cardinal and Mourning Dove birdwatching
and a Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, and a Red bellied woodpecker. I enjoy watching these birds as they devour the sunflower seeds left out for them and get very territorial on who should be on the bird feeder. The woodpecker seems to have the bluff on most of the visitors. I also get a show put on by the hummingbirds but I haven’t been able to catch them in action very much.

Yesterday afternoon as I was sitting at my computer supposedly working, I noticed a male Cardinal eating at the feeder. I think he spotted me because before I knew it he was at the window…

He kept flying back and forth from the feeder to the window.

I’m still not getting the message because this time his mate is on the feeder with him. She never did make the flight to the window though.

They moved to the other feeder so perhaps they were trying to tell me the feeder was empty. Whatever the reason I must have disappointed them because after a half an hour of the bird watching me they finally flew off.
But not for long because an hour later he or a friend of his was back…

  2. That is really cool. Cardinals seem to be really skittish. Maybe being bright red lends itself to being a little jumpy. Nice photos!
