Turkey is in the oven and my incubator is chirping…baby chicks are due to hatch tomorrow!

Blessings Abundantly

This is the time of year that many of us give thanks for our blessings. I try to do it frequently because I have multiple blessings and do not want to take them for granted. I am trying to think of my greatest blessing this year and that is hard to do, so I’m going to list my top 10 (in no certain order):

  1. My Husband…I have THE BEST husband ever. If I need a chicken coop, chicken feeder, a watering system, or you name it and he is always right there coming up with some creative solution.
  2. Our farm…no name yet but we are still deciding but God has blessed us by leading us to our home of over a year. We hope to have many more years to come on our mini-farm.
  3. My friends…I’m not gonna name them one by one but we have some awesome friends who would do just about anything for us. All just country folk like us who enjoy helping each other out.
  4. Chickens…God made some of the best animals when he made chickens. Raising chickens has been a true blessing for me even though some times it is a headache to feed in the rain, take care of the sick, or bury the dead.
  5. My sons…I have two now-grown boys that are a blessing and a headache but I love them either way :) .
  6. Family…our extended family is miles away but it is always a joy to visit or have them come visit.
  7. Our garden…this was a first this year and we are still reaping the rewards of growing our own food. Some things didn’t go as planned but others came in abundantly.
  8. Livin’ out in the boonies…I thoroughly enjoy watching the wildlife that visits (even if sometimes it does kill a chicken while my back is turned).
  9. New ventures…I set up my first collectibles booth in a small antique mall yesterday. I have always enjoyed going to auctions, buying antiques and collectibles, so why not try to make a little money with it.
  10. Our military…both of our sons are serving in the military and along time ago I did a short time in the army. I appreciate our military for defending our countries freedom in a time such as ours when it is not politically correct to do so.

As I am writing I can think of so many more things I give thanks for but I know you don’t have the time or patience to read all. And I’ve got to go check and see how many of the baby chicks have hatched!

Happy Thanksgiving from Fowl Visions!

  1. That was a wonderful list, Carole!! And as for a name for your farm, how about Abundant Blessings Farm?
    Or maybe, Carole’s Cacklery? *LOL*
