I’m excited to write that I am having hummingbirds visit my window feeder. Since I work out of a home office and am stuck inside most of the day, my birding enjoyment comes from visiting my chickens frequently during the day and also watching the birds from my office window.

Today I want to share some photos of my hummingbird viewings…

Isn’t she awesome! These pictures were taken with an Olympus C-750 camera on a tripod directed at the window waiting for her visits. I have a remote for it but sometimes it doesn’t go off when I want so I usually manually trigger the camera from my desk. I just love watching these little birds. Especially when they fight for the feeder.

Also I want to share with you some viewings from my backyard. These were taken earlier in the week while I was out checking on my chickens. I have been hearing the Cedar Wax Wings fly over but was never quick enough with the camera to get a photo of them. One day they finally stayed around long enough to get a few pictures.

Here they are…

One of these days I will get a digital camera with adjustable lens, but until then you are stuck with my C-750. It is amazing how these birds stick together as a flock when they travel. I enjoy looking at their masks. I always think of them as the masked bandits. I think I read that somewhere.

That’s it for today. I will be sharing more soon. If you have kept up with my blog you will know that today is the day the baby chicks should start hatching. I am looking forward to that with great anticipation.
