raising chickens is fun, fowl visions on raising chickens

During this time of the year of shortened hours of daylight, the egg laying from the hens has decreased greatly. Sometimes I have to make excuses to my customers due to the egg shortage and no availability to sell. My customers take in stride and patiently wait for me to get more in stock.

I received a gift from one of my customers recently. I thought it was very cute and so appropriate. So I wanted to share it with my readers also.

  1. I enjoy your blog and the good information that you share :)

Would you be able to write a post about selling eggs? How do you advertise? Do you have a set base of customers and just sell to them? Do you set a schedule for delivery or pick up? If so, do people get mad if your hens miss a few days? How do you decide what to charge?

I’m sure I have more questions, but these are just the ones off the top of my head… I’m anticipating getting a couple dozen eggs a week come springtime – more than I can eat :) It would be nice to figure out an outlet for the extra and be able to make a couple bucks from them, but I have no idea how to go about getting started.

If you could write a post sometime to help newbies, that would be great! Thanks :)
