		<description>showing chickens is a lot of fun, but i would warn any one new to the show chicken world to stay away from japs. they are very entertaing but amoung the hardist chicken to breed do to the leathel jean they carry you cant breed short legs to short legs or a large number of chicks will die in the egg just before pipping of the egg witch takes place only a day or so before they hatch so breeding short leged hens to mid length rosters is nesisary breed short leged hens in sted of roosters becase the hen shares much more of here dna with the chicks the the male ad that with tricky colors like grey brown red and black taild white and others you have a reel hand full that will make even a pro feel over his head at times</description>

		<description>i raise brown red old english,and my brother raises gray japs. this year all our chicks have shafting in thier feathers. most often in the chest. i have ben told that only breeding two year old birds will make it more clear, whether or not the breeder has good color, but what do i do when all my breedes have shafting and so do my chicks. if any one hase info to share i would love to here it also looking for black or blue japs. in mi area
